Love

When you keep a unity mindset, you work together with others for the cause of Christ. The devil has many convincing ways of distracting us from the mission. He tempts us to believe that there are hundreds of good reasons to stop caring, to divide, or to self-protect. Whenever we listen to the Liar, we can lose mission focus and missions focus!

Love through your unity.

Have you been tempted to lose your unity mindset? At risk is the teamwork and combined giftedness that the Holy Spirit employs. What lies is the devil whispering to you lately? Resist him firm in the faith, bringing his lies to the light by asking your church family humbly for help.

Have you lost your unity focus? What has become so important that you’ve drifted off-course? Is it time to repent and seek God’s restoring mercy, ask forgiveness of others, and get back on track?

When you keep a unity mindset, God might call you to give. “Where your treasure is, there your heart is also” (Matthew 6:21). So, you can look at your treasures all around you, and then you can trace them back to discover where your heart is. You can give financially to the cause of missions through the Remedy City Church giving portal. The pull-down menu allows two relevant choices:

Love through your giving.

When you give to the Remedy City Church General Offering, we give a percentage to our Southern Baptist Cooperative Program to support the work of missions.

You can give directly to the Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions.

Go

Go on a missions trip short-term, longer-term, career, or in “retirement.” Or, be on mission right here in Muncie!

Do you want to go on a mission trip? Check out the “Go Trips” on the IMB web site. They are typically advertised a year in advance to give time for prayer, preparation, and support raising. These trips are good for youth groups, college groups, individuals, church teams, and more. Check back often, as new trips are added often!

You can take a free training course to get ready for your trip.

Short-term “Go Trips”

Career missions: If you are looking for ways to go to the mission field, talk to our Pastor. He will work to get you connected to the right people at the IMB! Churches send missionaries, and our church might be able to help you with discipleship and personal growth, prayer, and perhaps other ways depending on the situation.

Longer-term Missions

Retired or retiring soon: Retirees may be able to take their experience, skillset, and willing hearts overseas for a season to serve Christ in the Masters missions program. Masters missionaries bless younger career missionaries and their families, do evangelistic or medical missions, work as support staff to a missions team, or many other ways depending on their giftedness.

Longer term assignments: Recent college grads may find a great fit with a semester, single-year, or two-year assignment to a missions team that is already on the field.

And of course, people from all around the world come here, to Muncie, Indiana! You can pray for and look for someone to share Jesus with! Refugees, students, immigrants—they all need Jesus!

Right here in Muncie!

Did you know we have missionaries right here in our church? Luke and Katie Wilson minister to residents at Chateau Apartments in partnership with Community Care Network. They are always looking for volunteers to help run their community events and talk to others about Jesus! To find out about events and how you can help, you can reach them Luke and Katie at chateau@ccnindy.com.

You can share the Jesus Film (a Cru ministry) right here in our city. It’s been translated into hundreds of languages. After selecting a series to play, you can select the language it will be spoken in and/or captioned in.

Lastly, you can guide a friend through an evangelism outline like 3 Circles to show them a pictorial representation of the gospel. You can even download the app for this outline to your phone.

Remedy City Church is a Southern Baptist church. SBC churches cooperate together through the Cooperative Program (or “CP”) to send missionaries through our International Mission Board (IMB) and North American Mission Board (NAMB).

Note: Our career IMB missionaries do not have to go on deputation. They don’t have to spend months or years raising funds. They don’t have to return periodically to the States for the purpose of continued fundraising. They go fully funded. (So instead, when they come back to the States, they get to rest, visit family, take care of their personal needs, and visit churches as desired.)

Once our candidates are assessed and approved for missions through the IMB, they simply turn up for orientation and then go to the field, fully funded! This is made possible through the SBC churches they represent and come from. In a real sense, Remedy City Church, and the thousands of SBC churches like us and before us, have pre-paid for our missionaries’ mission work through our own giving to the Cooperative Program.

This is why the IMB is Remedy City Church’s primary international mission agency. There are many good ones, and we thank God for them, but the IMB is our main focus. And the IMB takes excellent care of our missionaries. Our giving to the IMB makes many things possible: resources, medical care, security, cybersecurity, threat assessment, language learning, discipleship training, counseling, and so many more things!
